Since 1969, Aquafest has celebrated the heart and soul of Lake Stevens. What began as a small community gathering has grown into a beloved annual tradition that brings together thousands of residents and visitors alike.
Lake Stevens Aquafest was born from a desire to showcase the natural beauty of our lake and the strong community spirit of our residents. The first Aquafest was held on August 2nd and 3rd, 1969 — a two-day event organized by the Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce as a bold effort to raise funds for Clubs Incorporated's repair of the Community Hall, which had been largely damaged by fire.
The Lake Stevens J.C.'s, Fire District 8, the Lion's Club, the Legion, the Lake Stevens Water Club, and numerous other organizations all contributed to making that first festival a success. What started as a fundraiser became something much bigger — a tradition that has united our community for over five decades.

Volunteer-Run
Aquafest is fully volunteer-driven. Every aspect of the festival, from planning to execution, is handled by dedicated community members who donate their time and talents to keep this tradition alive.
Without our volunteers, sponsors, and passionate residents, there would be no Aquafest. This truly is a festival by the community, for the community.
From boat races to parades, carnival rides to craft vendors, Aquafest offers something for everyone while honoring the history and culture of Lake Stevens. Today, Aquafest draws 20,000 to 30,000 visitors each July to North Cove Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Stevens.
